I also tried PartInfo, but I wonder if that one shows everything.īoot Sector for drive *: Drive 2, Starting Sector: 102398310, Type: NTFSġ3. but /show also takes ages to do anything. at least 10 minutes.ĭunno the rest exactly. ANYTHING involving Ghreboot or Gdisk takes ages. I already read Symantec pages like this one: Does any of you has a good suggestion what to do next? I suspect some MBR problems, and maybe a hidden diagnostic partition from the system manyfacturer. Other weird things: if I start from my own bootdisk I can access the following drive letters:Īnyway. I also noted that starting Gdisk with a wrong parameter takes about 10 minutes to generate a 'wrong parameter' message. I tried Gdisk, but that gives me "invalid fixed disk number - 1", after 10 minutes of inactivity.

Ghost itself (in DOS mode) sees the right partitions as well.

#Norton ghost 9 serial number windows
I made a new bootdisk with the program MBR Wizard on it, and it nicely shows me my partitions, including an active partition where Windows is located. I accepted and after this I only get a black screen with a cursor. I tried ghreboot, which told me there was no active partition and if it should set one (option 3). Ghost closed the PC, started it's DOS shell and did nothing for 20 minutes, so I closed down the PC, which didn't want to restart Windows but stuck with ghost instead. Installed my main programs, updated all drivers, installed Ghost and went for a clean image.

Well, I did browse the forums here for a solution, but the few threads I found didn't bring me much further.
